Yesterday was Chap Goh Mei, the 15th and last night of the Lunar New Year celebrations. I had my annual ‘lo hei’ and dinner with MPs, community leaders, and guests.
The mood during last year’s Chap Goh Mei dinner was subdued. I was recovering from my operation and my father was ill in hospital. A few weeks later, he passed away peacefully.
While 2015 was a very busy year, looking back now, I feel a sense of assurance, satisfaction and confidence. We may have many challenges ahead, but we are in a strong position and can look forward with sureness and hope for the future.
